HLA Maryland has offered the education, tools, resources and networking opportunities required to enhance and develop those who serve in the administration of the medical practice. Our members work in a wide range of practice settings, such as: private practice, academic and hospital practice, and integrated delivery systems. Of our medical practice membership, a large percentage serve in a leadership position within their medical practice, including:

• 29.2% Administrator/Practice Administrator
• 28.6% Manager/Assistant Manager
• 17.3% Director/Executive Director
• 5.0% COO/CFO/CIO
• 4.9% President/CEO

Additional medical practice members are employed as:

• 3.3% Biller/Coder/Collector/Specialist
• 1.9% Supervisor/Coordinator
